Use of ProCutter : clock tower is going to be broken down.
by Joshua |

Sigh...

A memorable clock tower is going to be broken down.

Create some lines and apply the Extrude modifier to make the "cutters" .

Select one of the cutters, then click on the ProCutter button under Create Panel > Geometry > Compound Objects. Turn on the Pick Cutter Objects button, press H and select all the cutters.

Turn on the Pick Stock Objects and select the clock tower. Check both Stock Outside Cutter and Stock Inside Cutter in the Cutter Parameters rollout.

Convert the clock tower into an Editable Mesh.

Change the Explode value to 180 and click Explode.

Create a reactor Plane and Rigid Body Collection. Put all the objects into RB Collection. Set the Mass of all the clock tower pieces to, say, 10 unit, and check the radio button of Concave Mesh.

In the Utilities Panel, turn on Reactor and choose Havok 3 as the solver. Havok 3 is NEW to 3ds Max 9 which gives more accurate result of simulation. Click on the Preview in Window to preview the animation.

Change the time settings and click on the Create Animation button to create the animation.
