nCloth Effect - Maya2008

This tutorial is from Siggraph 2007 Autodesk demotration , It great , want to share with you .

This is the final result. Add nCloth effect on a Character !!

I use my new character to demo this tutorial . First ,make this polygon head to nCloth object (Create nCloth)

I am going to add some influence supply to the nCloth object . In Attribute Editor , under nClothShape > Dynamic Properties , increase Input Mesh Attract to 1

To paint a weight on thenCcloth object from input mesh attract . Keep select the head , in menu Edit nCloth > Paint Vertex Properties > Input Attract ..

Set the NCLOTH Attributes to inputAttract . To let the face are not affect by the cloth effect , then paint the weight on the area which you want to influence by nColth . To do this , set Paint operation to Replace , Value to 10 then Flood the whole object . after that reduce the vaule to 0 , start paint on the object .

Play in Interactive playback , use other passive object to poke the face .. cool !!

And then I wil add a baggy effect on the nCloth which can influence by a wind effect .
Under the cloth object Shapenode , Dynamic Properties Maps > Input Attract Map Type change to texture .

load your own textures in it , the dark area will affect by wind effect .

Then add the Wind effect , increase Air Density and wind speed .

Finally , we can combine these 2 effect together ...

Final Result ~~

Enjoy CG !!
